Craters of the Moon is 1,100 square miles of lava fields and the world’s deepest rift (800 feet). It has also been given the nickname “the Devil’s Vomit” by pioneers crossing the park in the 1800s.
The day will start out with a 10 AM orientation by the park guides. After that, you are on your own to explore. You are free to join the guided cave walk at 1 PM or the presentations on the visitor center patio at 1:45 PM and 3:15 PM.

Over 18 or over 21 only, no disabled access, bring a flashlight, not suitable for children
If folks intend to go on the Cave Walk at 10 am or 1 pm they would need to bring the following:
-Cave Permit (obtain at visitor center, free)
-Sturdy close-toed shoes
-flashlight
-water
